Defensive Shotgun, Basic (Shot-1)

This 16-hour course is designed to make the participant functional in the basic manipulations, skills and understanding required for performing under the stress of an armed confrontation, while armed with a pump or semi-auto shotgun. Including training in the mindset required to survive and win a gunfight, the program of instruction includes tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) as developed by experienced, combat-proven military and police special operations personnel. The course also provides the foundational structure upon which further advanced training is based.

This course is required for attendance at Shot-2.

Cost - $300.00 (15% discount for active/retired Law Enforcement or Military and their family members).

Required Equipment: pump or semi-auto shotgun with sling, belt or pouch shot shell holder, long pants and athletic/service footwear, ear protection (muff type, no “foamies”), eye protection (ballistic wrap around type preferred) and/or prescription glasses, knee pads, elbow pads, 200 rounds of birdshot, 50 rounds of buckshot, 25 rounds of slug.

Defensive Shotgun, Advanced (Shot-2)

This 16-hour course is designed to build upon the skills and capabilities learned in Shot-1, and includes training on moving targets, target discrimination, in/around buildings and rooms and in force-on-force scenarios. The program of instruction includes tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) as developed by experienced, combat-proven military and police special operations personnel. Persons completing the course will be highly skilled in the use of the shotgun as a defensive weapon.

Cost - $325.00 (15% discount for active/retired Law Enforcement or Military and their family members).

Required Equipment: pump or semi-auto shotgun with sling, belt or pouch shot shell holder, long pants and athletic/service footwear, ear protection (muff type, no “foamies”), eye protection (ballistic wrap around type preferred) and/or prescription glasses, knee pads, elbow pads, athletic groin protector (male), athletic breast protection (female), 200 rounds of birdshot, 50 rounds of buckshot, 25 rounds of slug, 50 rounds of Simunition™ (Simunition™ rounds can be obtained from SRW Inc.).
